With early decision college-application deadlines approaching, WalletHub has revealed the top 10 colleges and universities in Maryland, according to a new study.

In an effort to help college-bound seniors make a decision on the best schools to attend for higher education, WalletHub compared over 900 schools in the United States based on 30 key measures grouped into seven categories:

  • 1) Student Selectivity
  • 2) Cost & Financing
  • 3) Faculty Resources
  • 4) Campus Safety
  • 5) Campus Experience
  • 6) Educational Outcomes
  • 7) Career Outcomes

The top 10 colleges and universities in Maryland ranked as follows:

  • 1) Johns Hopkins University
  • 2) University of Maryland-College Park
  • 3) University of Maryland-Baltimore County
  • 4) St. Mary’s College of Maryland
  • 5) Mount St. Mary’s University
  • 6) Towson University
  • 7) Coppin State University
  • 8) University of Baltimore
  • 9) University of Maryland Eastern Shore
  • 10) Frostburg State University

According to WalletHub, institutions were considered colleges if they provide only undergraduate, or baccalaureate degree, programs, and universities if they offer graduate, including masters and/or doctoral degree, programs.
